Cheaters Leave Blackjack Tables in Favour of Baccarat
September 13th, 2010 by Site Admin
Earlier trends of cheating in blackjack seem to have died down, as casinos and blackjack in the US tightened their security. Now it would seems that the cheaters have jumped ship from the blackjack tables to the baccarat games. As per the news reports, it would seem that baccarat cheating is on the rise and blackjack tables are being left behind as the cheater’s game of choice.
According to Bill Zender, a security consultant for a Las Vegas Casino, the habit of malpractice and cheating at baccarat is gradually increasing. Zender also believes that baccarat cheating is going to become extremely common, perhaps replacing blackjack, which now holds this tentative record.
The reason why blackjack was once the cheater’s game of choice was because it involved mathematics and card counting. Players can easily use blackjack software and gaming tools to cheat at online blackjack games or event at blackjack tables at land based casinos. These electronic devices allow players to cheat the dealer and require intellect on the part of the cheater.
Baccarat on the other hand, is a simple game without many complicated strategies. These games also have high limits and big prizes, making them lucrative places to cheat at.

Pennsylvania’s Last Blackjack Casino License To Be Given To Gettysburg Casino?
September 2nd, 2010 by Site Admin
After Pennsylvania introduced new blackjack friendly laws that allowed casinos in the state to license and operate these games, gaming revenues and job opportunities for blackjack dealers have increased in the region. Pennsylvania has already given put several casino licenses and many of these gaming enterprises are already in operation hosting blackjack games for players in the region. Currently, there is just one PA casino license left and this has created a huge debate over which casino it should go to.
Ideally, the board would like the license to go to a small casino, and one of the candidates is the proposed Mason Dixon Resort and Casino, located near the historic Gettysburg National Military Park. However, this idea seem to be the source of a lot of controversy as preservationists have taken up the issue as a cause, claiming that a casino in Gettysburg would ”cheapen the wholesome reputation” that the town currently enjoys as a tourist hub.
“It seems like a lot of people, they just want more business, they want more money to flow in the community at any cost, and that’s really upsetting,” said Barbara Schultz, a local Bed and Breakfast owner who opposes the idea.
Ronald Maxwell, who made the movie “Gettysburg,” also spoke against the project. “Why stop at Gettysburg? Maybe we should build some casinos at the site of the World Trade Center. That would create some jobs right? Heck that would help the tax base, right?”

Colorado Blackjack Drops in Revenue, Despite New Laws
August 23rd, 2010 by Site Admin
Colorado has more than 40 reputed casinos in three of its towns, most of which supply blackjack games and poker games. Recent reports reveal that these casinos are dropping in revenue despite hosting $5 blackjack games and following new table limits of $100. The Colorado casinos have also been adding to their table game selections but show a marked decline from 2009 to 2010. Their profits last month were recorded at $70.1 million while last year, the casinos were at a high of $76 million. Expectations were high when the authorities allowed for round the clock gaming and higher table limits but none of this has improved the revenue.
A good many of these casinos have been in operation since the year 1991, when limited gaming was allowed and casinos were permitted to operate a few hours in the day and could only carry slots, poker and blackjack. Today, the number of casinos has increased, and most of them operate throughout the day 24/7. However, despite the change in gaming policy, increase in casinos and blackjack games, the casinos in Colorado appear to be on a decline. The casinos do show a small change when reports were made this month, and profits were reported to show more than a 13 percent increase.
