Blackjack Player Hits Bad Beat Jackpot Winning $52,600

February 7th, 2011 by Site Admin

The Barona Casino appears to be a good place to lose at the blackjack table as it has a generous bad beat jackpot. When a blackjack player who was the guest of the Barona Casino recently found himself come out as the loser after a particularly bad beat, he did not expect to win $52,600. However, much to his surprise, his blackjack loss triggered Barona’s Bad Beat Blackjack Progressive as soon as the dealer defeated him at the table with a 21 made from seven cards. The lucky blackjack player was just a hairsbreadth away from a win with a hand of 20 when he was trumped by the dealer. This is a great start for the player, especially in the New Year as he is $52,600 richer.

Mike Patterson, the VP of table games at the Barona Casino, commented on the win. “It is very exciting to start the New Year off with another big jackpot win. This blackjack progressive was installed just a few weeks ago and we’ve already paid out more than $137,000 to several lucky winners. Not to mention the $100,000 ginormous Bad Beat Poker Jackpot hit last week and the nearly $600,000 Marilyn Monroe slot machine jackpot a couple of weeks ago,” he said.

To be a part of the Barona’s Bad Beat Blackjack Progressive, a player only has to wager $1 to $5 as a side bet while playing at the table.

February 5th, 2011 by Site Admin

Cooper is doing this is an effort to remind people about the horrific genocide that took place along the northern trail when thousands of Native Americans were forced out of their lands and driven northwards. Over 4000 men, women and children perished along that route from starvation and exposure and the Trail of Tears is the name given to this arduous route.

Cooper is now walking northwards and plans to write a book about his experiences when he returns. “It’s my story, too…. but we all came out of it.” He also mentioned his regret that the Native Americans “don’t have a symbol like Martin Luther King Jr.”

This blackjack application can be downloaded free of charge. Gastwirth said that the developers have included fantasy football elements into the app to enable players to win virtual money from their opponents and receive the winner’s crown at the end of the gaming season.

The Palms blackjack application enables players to challenge players to a game via Facebook or email. Just like the usual blackjack game, the dealer sets all the rules pertaining to betting structure, number of decks and so on.

Blackjack Champion from MIT Now Builds Flying Cars

January 18th, 2011 by Site Admin

Blackjack players, and blackjack champions in particular are rarely people of ordinary intelligence. Instead most blackjack champions tend to be stars in their own right and excel in some field or another. Today, the blackjack community has champions who are authors, chess players, sports stars and business bigwigs. This is exactly the case with Semyon Dukach, who was once a blackjack champion from MIT. Dukach was also a celebrated member of the famous MIT blackjack team that won thousands of dollars from the blackjack tables in Las Vegas by using card counting strategies. Dukach raked himself a good bankroll during the 1980s when he was playing blackjack and got involved in schemes like Strategic Investments. Dukach continued to play blackjack until the 1990s and was known to be using advanced blackjack game plays.

Today, Semyon Dukach has moved into the arena of building flying cars and is the director of a company he calls Terrafugia. Currently, he is making more by making flying cars than he is by playing the blackjack tables in Las Vegas; although he does play the occasional blackjack game.

Semyon Dukach has left behind his pursuit of blackjack in favour of software and internet related products and of course flying cars. He is now involved in building a four person flying car.

New Home Card Game Is a Mix of Blackjack and Poker

January 14th, 2011 by Site Admin

iPhone users will be happy to know that they can now access a brand new game called Home Card that has brought together elements of poker and blackjack. Blackjack online players who want to try something new are sure to love this game as it will allow them to try an easy to play version of poker that has blackjack plays as well.

The Home Card game has also incorporated a bit of Craps into its structure and uses dice, making it a fun blend of some of the most popular card games in casinos today. The game is expected to be a great success with players and is a refreshing addition to the gaming scene, since it has combined the best of table games in one exciting form. The game was created to promote a new card deck called 4-Score-Pro launched by Steve Mitchell. These cards are quite similar to a normal playing card deck and use the same four suits; the only difference is in the way that they have been numbered. In the 4-Score-Pro deck, each card will have four different numbers from 1 to 20, each number occurring only eight times in the entire deck. The deck does not have any face cards but instead has wild cards, money cards, false cards and four jokers.

Players who are interested in trying their luck at the Home Card game should download it via iTunes. Although it uses elements of poker, the game is very much like blackjack.

Blackjack Dealers Get No Compensation after BP Oil Spill

January 12th, 2011 by Site Admin

Casinos based in and around the Gulf Coast area that was recently affected by the oil spill from a BP carrier, have been complaining about declining profits and the drop in the number of patrons that they are receiving. Blackjack dealers, croupiers and those employed in these casinos have also been affected as they are not getting any tips. As per the usual procedure of compensation given out to victims of an oil spill, companies have been known to pay out a small restitution to those affected in tune with the damages incurred.

Blackjack dealers have been strongly affected, as this is one sector of the casino floor where employees tend to rely on tips. However, after the British Petrol oil spill, many gamblers are staying away from this area and dealers as a result are getting no tips.

Brad McDonald, a dealer at the Hard Rock Casino in Mississippi, took this to a claim facility when he applied for restitution fro the company. His claims were denied along with those applications of several other casino workers on the basis that there was not enough proof of lost revenue.

McDonald on the other hand believes that the company is prejudiced. “Everybody who had the word ‘casino’ in their claims had their claims denied. It’s been extremely frustrating,” he said.

Newest Las Vegas Blackjack Casino Launches

January 8th, 2011 by Site Admin

The Cosmopolitan Casino of Las Vegas is quickly regaining the reputation it lost owing to rumors of bad blackjack games. The latest casino to be established in Las Vegas, the Cosmopolitan got its license from the Nevada Gaming commission just a few months back, after an exhaustive investigation. The construction work of this casino, which is worth $3.9 billion, began several years ago and slowed down because of the economic recession, owing to which it could be inaugurated just last week.

Shortly before its launch, rumors began flying around gaming forums and blogs that the casino offered only 6:5 payouts on natural blackjacks, which is much less that the Vegas 3:2 standard. The rumors, however, were proved to be false on opening night when blackjack fans learned that the casino offered 6:5 payouts only on single-deck blackjack game, while all multi-deck blackjack variants such as Blackjack Switch, Blackjack, and Spanish 21 were played as per standard rules. Besides, the casino’s high-limit room has double-deck blackjack.

The Cosmopolitan Casino, therefore, has started well despite these rumors by purchasing the best dealers from popular Las Vegas Casinos such as Wynn Las Vegas. It also has a comps program similar to the loyalty schemes at online casinos.
