Blackjack Player Loses Winnings on Being Arrested

Mateen Johnson, a 34 year old blackjack player from Altoona, recently hit a lucky streak and rode it for $2,500. However, his luck just about ran out a day later, when he was arrested on outstanding drug charges. His winnings are currently being held in Blair County Prision.
Johnson was playing at the Parx Casino and was trying his luck at the blackjack tables and raked in as much as $2,500. A day later an officer from the Bensalem Township stopped Johnson when he came across him and arrested him for the pending charges.
According to the Altoona police, officials at the Parx Casino had called them to report Johnson as soon as they noticed his police record. The casino was made aware of Johnson’s outstanding drug charges when they checked his identification during his cash out.
However, police officials insist that while they did get a call from the Parx Casino about Johnson, his arrest was “a coincidence.”
“It was an officer conducting an investigation of wanted people who came across him at one of our motels on Lincoln Highway. It was a coincidence that he [Johnson] had been at the casino,” stated Andrew Aninsman, a Bensalem Sgt.
Paris Hilton Scores 21s Playing Blackjack on her 31st Birthday
March 5th, 2012 by Site Admin
There are all sorts of blackjack winners; there are card counters, professional blackjack players, beginners who get lucky and amateurs trying to learn the tricks of the game. And, then of course, there is Paris Hilton – the heiress and glam girl of Hilton fame who just got lucky on her 31st birthday – pulling out 21s and winning against experienced card counters.
Hilton reportedly won as much as $30,000 while playing blackjack and shocked Las Vegas and the blackjack players seated at the table. Paris, who is often misconstrued as the “dumb blonde” stereotype, proved to the players seated at the table that she may also have been underestimated.
Blackjack is both a game of skill and luck and although it is quite likely that many players will not be able to believe that Ms. Hilton could win $30k, it remains unknown as to how she did it. According to rumor, one experienced blackjack player who wanted to lighten Hilton’s purse, was both surprised and shocked as she kept scoring perfect blackjack hands of 21.
The dealers at the Vegas tables have not experienced such events and were equally surprised.
It may be possible that Hilton who claims “I love gambling!” and has the money to burn, may have been coached by the world’s best blackjack players and decided to give the Vegas casinos a nice surprise.

Winning And Having Fun While Playing Blackjack
February 27th, 2012 by Site Admin
Anybody who plays blackjack is aware that there are two major types of blackjack players—optimistic players and pessimistic players. The pessimistic players can often get on one’s nerves. In total disregard of the fact that blackjack is a game meant to be enjoyed irrespective of whether one loses or wins, pessimistic players grumble whenever they lose and wish they had bet more whenever they win. They are also in the habit of throwing around unwanted bits of advice.
Blackjack players, often the most experienced of them, forget that one can play only the cards they are dealt. Blackjack is a player friendly game, and players can always use strategy to bend the odds further in their favor. However, even the best strategy sometimes cannot help players win.
Blackjack players also make the mistake of getting emotionally affected by the way other players perform at the blackjack table. In this case, it is important to understand that blackjack is a game played against the house. How other people at the table play their cards has absolutely no effect on a player’s game.
Players should know their basic blackjack strategy and how to implement it. They should also avoid giving advice unless asked for it.
Blackjack Player Caught Using Counterfeit Cash At Tables
February 25th, 2012 by Site Admin
There are different ways to cheat at blackjack tables and some players seem to be taking this to a whole new level. In addition to the regular card counters and those players who make deals with the dealers, there are a few players who try and dupe the system by playing with fake money.
Dermishvan, a 22 year old blackjack player from Los Angeles, was recently apprehended at the casino tables in Morongo Casino. The Morongo Casino is based in Riverside County and the player was arrested there after he was found using counterfeit money. Surprisingly, Dermishvan chose to take his freshly minted fake bills to the casino rather than to a store or somewhere else. Naturally, the casino, which like all establishments of its type checked for the authenticity of the bills.
Dermishvan had five counterfeit hundred dollar bills that he used at the high stakes blackjack table. When the dealer and blackjack authorities noticed that all of the 5 bills had the same serial number, they alerted security. The player was winning impressively until casino authorities arrived on the scene and stopped him. He was later held by security until the police arrived.
Dermishvan was found with $2,100 worth of counterfeit cash on his person when checked by the police.

February 21st, 2012 by Site Admin
Casino Night is an annual event, which began as a small event at an obscure location and later grew to a mega event. The Casino Night of 2012 was the most exciting of all the Casino Nights held so far, especially for blackjack players.
Since the Casino Night of 2012 was based on the theme of white, players were requested to dress in suitable costumes. The tickets cost $100 each and the venue was Honda Center. The drinks were great and the DJ, who is among the top 10 mixers in the country, did an excellent job of entertaining the crowd. While most of the drinks were free, some of them had to be paid for. The food was fantastic, including duck on raisin bread, sage raviolis, pork with Brussels sprouts, cake pops for dessert, and much more.
The gaming section comprised a VIP area for high-stakes players along with plenty of blackjack, roulette, and craps tables. There was also an auction section with signed jerseys, equipment, and others to be auctioned off. The most popular guest of the night was Mr. Bruce Boudreau, who made light talk with everybody.
The event is definitely worth it as most of the proceeds are given to charity.

Blackjack Player Don Johnson Wins $17.1 Million at Atlantic Casinos
February 11th, 2012 by Site Admin
Don Johnson occupies the top place in the list of high earning blackjack players in 2011, compiled by Ace Ten. Johnson’s total blackjack earnings, comprising money won at three casinos based in Atlantic City, equal $17.1 million.
According to Ace Ten, Johnson won $2 million playing blackjack last month at Tropicana Casino. Johnson is a professional blackjack player, not just one of those amateurs who get lucky once in a while.
Johnson says that he aims to prove to all land casinos in Atlantic City that he is quite capable of making them miserable. He plans to pay another visit to the casinos and has claimed that he will make headlines again for beating the house. Johnson is one of the most highly confident players around, which is quite understandable as he wins more than $17 million annually playing blackjack.
Johnson began winning at Tropicana Casino back in December 2010, and soon he had won a total of $15.1 million at Tropicana Casino as well as Borgata Casino. Besides, he won an extra $2 million in Oct 2011, making his total winnings $17.1 million.
Discussing Johnson’s success, blackjack experts say that offering high stakes blackjack in casinos is risky because players can get quite lucky.

February 8th, 2012 by Site Admin
Double Down Interactive, a young gaming company based in Seattle, created an online blackjack game for Facebook users, which was 100 percent legal because players could not convert their virtual chips into real money.
The company launched a marketing campaign comprising a few advertisements on Facebook, shortly after which the application became immensely popular and dollars began flowing into the company. Talking about the success of the blackjack game, Greg Enell, the CEO and co-founder of Double Down Interactive, said that an average Facebook game generates a profit of 2 – 3 cents per active user every day, but Double Down’s game was creating a profit of over 35 cents per user everyday within just a few days of its launch.
The company has invested $1 million to create its first blackjack game. Most of it was invested by an unknown investor; Cooper DuBois, the co-founder of the company, and Enell. Recently Double Down Interactive had announced that it will be shortly acquired by International Game Technology (IGT), a renowned manufacturer of slot machine games. This pending acquisition deal is worth as much as $500 million.
According to Enell, Facebook has placed Double Down Casino in the fourth position in its list of games launched in 2011.
