Blackjack Player Fakes Kidnapping To Get Gambling Money

April 11th, 2012 by Site Admin

A blackjack player from Mexico, who worked as an accountant for a geological research company, was recently arrested after police found out that he had staged his own kidnapping in an effort to get his company to pay his gambling debts.

The blackjack player, Marlon S, was visiting Buenos Aires, Argentina and wanted to try a new strategy to win some blackjack games. However, since he did not want to risk his own money, he staged a kidnapping and sent a ransom note to his employers. However, the note only demanded $15k which was too low a ransom amount and aroused suspicion.

When the matter was taken to the police, an investigation was conducted which revealed that Marlon S was not kidnapped and held anywhere but rather was gambling happily at a local casino along with a friend and a few women he had picked up.

Marlon was then fired and charged with extortion – he now faces 10 years in prison. The blackjack player claimed that it was all a big joke that he was playing on his employers. However, the authorities denied this claim and charged him.

Perhaps, Marlon should have tried to find help because he obviously had a gambling problem. We encourage all site visitors to check out Gamblers Anonymous.

Blackjack players will be pleased to know that the gambling and casino industry in the UK is doing well. What’s more, if one were to go by the number of applicants seeking to be blackjack dealers at the Oxford Casino job fair, one could assume that there was a strong interest in the blackjack industry.

The Oxford Casino recently hosted its first job fair and offered around 50 different blackjack dealer job opportunities to applicants. The job fair recorded hundreds of applicants seeking these blackjack dealer jobs; it was estimated that the number of applicants was 500 or so.

Scott Smith, a spokesperson for the Oxford Casino commented on the large turn-out and was looking to shortlist a pool of 100 individuals suitable for the job. “If we can find 50 dealers, we’ll be thrilled,” he said.

It must also be noted that several of these applicants arrived well before the fair could begin and waited in the rain to enter. Several of the applicants were in their 40s and the crowds numbered more men than women.

The candidates were given a math test to pass before going ahead in their interviews. Peter Martin, an advisor for the casino company group said,” “If they don’t pass the test, there are a number of other positions that they can apply for. The math test is one part of the series of steps to become a dealer.”

Blackjack Clown Robs Thousands to Play Blackjack

March 15th, 2012 by Site Admin

The highlight of a blackjack rodeo, the place where wild animals and human beings perform wild tricks not performed at zoos, are real cowboys acting like clowns instead of the usual professional clowns. But, a blackjack rodeo turned out to be a real nightmare for a group of kids in Arizona.

The clown who scared the children was neither a cowboy nor a professional clown, but an ex-convict with a penchant for gambling, drinking, and smoking pot. This 43-year-old man from Phoenix decided to use the blackjack rodeo to raise funds for his lifestyle of womanizing, playing blackjack, and doing drugs. He called himself Dusty Cornelius, the Blackjack Clown, wore a cowboy suit, a red clown nose, and a pink bow-tie, and demanded money from people as they arrived in tourist buses at the blackjack rodeo.

Terrifying people with two revolvers, he robbed thousands of people who had arrived on at least 12 tourist buses, and as his signature, he left behind two playing cards inside each tourist bus robbed.

These playing cards gave the police the clue that he might be a gambling addict. Investigation revealed that he was a regular loser at blackjack tables throughout Arizona, and he was arrested while playing a blackjack tournament.
