Twin River Casino Permitted to Add More Blackjack Games

September 23rd, 2013 by Site Admin

The Rhode Island lottery has permitted Twin River Casino to introduce more blackjack games. Twin River, which was only a greyhound racetrack, was first converted into an electronic slots parlor and then into a full-fledged casino in June.

A spokeswoman for Twin River Casino has confirmed that Gerald Aubin, director of the state lottery, has permitted the casino to raise the number of its table games, such as roulette and blackjack, from 66 to 80. According to Rhode Island Revenue Director Rosemary Booth Gallogly, the casino can add more table games without reducing the number of video lottery terminals it currently offers.

The state lottery has placed 4,538 video lottery terminals, which are nothing but electronic gambling machines, at Twin River, and the state gets 61 cents out of each dollar wagered by players on these machines. On the other hand, the state gets only a third of this amount on player bets placed on table games.

Patti Doyle, spokeswoman for Twin River Casino, said that the casino has received the state lottery’s approval to add more table games because they have far exceeded the casino’s expectations. She said that the casino had requested the state lottery to approve more table games on August 19.

Riviera Las Vegas Cancels Bottoms Up Blackjack

September 19th, 2013 by Site Admin

Riviera Las Vegas Casino has cancelled a number of attractive blackjack variants, much to the disappointment of blackjack players. The casino’s innovative Bottoms Up Blackjack, in which players were dealt face-up cards, ties ended in a push, and blackjack was paid even money, is now no more.

The casino now offers only cheap $1 blackjack. Fortunately, it also continues to offer Single Deck Blackjack, which pays 3-2 for blackjack and allows players to place a minimum bet of $10. This variant also allows players to double if the first two cards dealt to them turned out to be equal to 10 or 11. However, the casino offers only one table for Single Deck Blackjack. This table is surrounded by 6-5 blackjack games.

To make matters worse, the casino has eliminated the Pai Gow Poker variant, in which players did not have to pay the house a commission of 5 percent if they won. The casino had not only removed the poker room, but also the Asian table games area and the party pit. The space thus created was fully occupied by slot machine games.

The casino’s food court now lacks the Mediterranean and Buffalo Wing windows, but the other options are still available.

Bet-At Casino’s New Looks Attract More Blackjack Players

September 12th, 2013 by Site Admin

Bet-At Casino, one of the latest entrants into the online casino gambling world, changed its website design in the hopes of attracting more blackjack players. The casino’s new looks includes a brand new color scheme, complete with a new logo, which has made it an excellent choice for players looking for online casino games, including online blackjack.

Besides changing its looks, Bet-At Casino has launched a slew of promotions in a bid to attract more new players. Since the online casino runs on Microgaming software, it offers an impressive catalog of slots, table games, card games, video pokers, and instant win games.

Competition for player traffic is rather fierce among online casino sites at present, particularly as more and more new online casinos are being launched on a regular basis. Each casino is trying its best to set itself in a class of its own, and Bet-At Casino is not an exception.

On the downside, Bet-At Casino has still not launched a mobile gambling product. Since Bet-At Casino is a Flash casino, players can play the games directly from their browsers as long as they have the latest version of Flash installed. Android players can easily access the Flash casino, but not users of iOS devices.

Casino Fined $30k for Violating Gaming Regulations

September 10th, 2013 by Site Admin

A fine of $30k has been slapped on Hollywood Casino Toledo in Ohio for holding blackjack games without video surveillance and offering slot machine games that did not bear the Ohio Casino Control Commission’s certification.

According to the commission, which will shortly approve the fine, the casino will pay the fine without attempting to fight against it.

Hollywood Casino Toledo is not the first casino to pay a fine. In April, the commission had fined Horseshoe Casino Cleveland $180k for violating several operational and security rules; and in January, the same casino was fined $15k for using unapproved computer software programs.

Horseshoe Casino Cleveland stood accused of mishandling keys, using unapproved dice, permitting waitresses to enter restricted zones between various table games, using quarters in place of chips, and storing and transporting slots machines in an inappropriate manner. Besides, the casino had not posted problem gambling help lines on its promotional posters.

According to Ohio Casino Control Commission Chairperson Jo Ann, the Casino Control Act was implemented to maintain high standards of gaming integrity in Ohio. She also said that the residents of Ohio expect high gambling standards and the commission expects casino properties to strictly adhere to the gambling laws.

Play Blackjack on iPhone at Chipper’s Tea Party

September 5th, 2013 by Site Admin

Chipper’s Tea Party, an iPhone gaming app developed recently by Lewis Pugh, gives blackjack players a chance to play their favorite blackjack games on their iPhones. Besides, it is packed with unique features and has a tag line that says: “Finally there’s something to do while you’re waiting for your tea to brew!”

Chipper’s Tea Party has several game modes. Players can compete with other players online, score points, or just head over to the virtual shop, which is based entirely on the theme of tea parties. Players can purchase cups of tea that can have a variety of effects on them.

On the downside, the game displays banner ads that can spoil the gaming experience as these ads overlap the gaming board as well as items in the virtual store. If players want an experience free of banner ads, they must get the Pro version, which also enables them to get double chips.

Chipper’s Tea Party has an excellent replay value and a beautiful user interface. Besides, it comes with a sliding bar that enables players to set a difficulty level before beginning to play the game.

The game can be played on all iOS devices of version 5.1 or newer.

September 4th, 2013 by Site Admin

A lucky Dutch lady casino player has won another massive jackpot at Casino Euro. When the online casino first reported that the female player had won a progressive jackpot worth €3.7 million, nobody paid much attention. But when news broke out that the same female player had won another massive jackpot worth €3.3 million, the entire casino gaming community went crazy with excitement. However, it should not be that surprising as is quite possible for the same player to win multiple jackpots in a short period of time.

The lucky player is a 44-year-old woman who won €3.3 million playing Arabian Nights slot in May and another €3.7 million playing Mega Fortune. According to a statement released from the casino, the lady took a break after winning the first jackpot, but returned only because the casino offered a bonus of €10. She was at the Mega Fortune slot for just 15 minutes and had bet only €50 when she struck it rich.

Mega Fortune Slot enjoys a great deal of popularity especially after it paid a jackpot worth €17.8 million to a lucky player in Jan 2013. Mega Fortune is one of the progressive slots in the portfolio of Net Entertainment, a leading provider of mobile and online casino software solutions.
