Online Blackjack Games Are Best Cure for Cocaine Users Says Study

Online Blackjack players will be pleased to know that a team of reputed Swiss psychologists have announced that playing online casino table games could have a positive effect on helping cocaine users kick the habit. According to the results of their study, both cocaine and crack users who play online casino games like poker and blackjack will find it easier to quit and are less likely to suffer a relapse into their drug habit. It was also reported that playing blackjack games had a better success rate of curtailing cocaine usage than a 12 step program or a 28 day rehabilitation trip. The study was headed by Dr. Sylvie Petit Jean and Dr. Geneva Francois Crespo who only recently published their findings.
Dr. Crespo, who was part of this study, commented on how blackjack games in particular could prove beneficial. “After cocaine is used, it activates the reward center inside the brain. The brain released euphoric hormones and neurotransmitters such as dopamine, oxytocin and adrenaline which act as a mood enhancer. The same occurs with gambling: the brain perceives a reward from winning or the potential of a reward. The reward causes intense moments of happiness, which compensate for the desire to use cocaine,” he said.
