Tourist Players Fall For Blackjack Scams in Vietnam

Blackjack players who are visiting Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam on holiday or business are being cautioned to avoid strangers who invite them to their homes in the hopes of playing blackjack games.
So far, reports of several tourists and backpackers having been taken in by a trio of people have made the news in Vietnam.
These blackjack playing scam artists have taken the novel approach of talking to tourist and then inviting them home to visit a daughter or son who they claim will be visiting your home country to study. The innocent tourists are then made to feel at home and are invited to dinner, after which a high stakes blackjack game is blackjack is set in motion.
Things are arranged so that the tourist mark is sure to win and feel at home, after which a banker who is seated at the table will win your confidence and loan you money to the tune of US$1,000. At this point, players will lose and find that they have to put up their own valuables as collateral. At the end of the day, the tourist is left with empty pockets and will feel indebted to the other scam blackjack players. The regional police are currently investigating this case.
