The University Student Union (USU) will be holding a casino and movie night for the first time in the course of its history in the Game Room. The event, which will be held on the evening of Friday, promises plenty of fun and prizes.
Charlie Small, assistant (commercial services and games) at USU, said that the USU is hosting such an event for the first time. Revealing further details, he said that the casino and movie night will comprise a Texas Hold’em Poker tournament as well as a blackjack tournament. A trophy will be presented to the champions of each tournament.
Stating that the event will have nothing to do with real money, Small said that the NSU has decided not to give away gift cards or cash in prizes because that would constitute gambling.
The event will include “Ocean’s Eleven” and plenty of snacks and free pizza. Stephanie Alfaro, a student of cinema and TV arts at the university, said that students appreciate a chance to take a break from studies and just have fun. She also said that she is looking forward to playing blackjack, watching a movie, eating, and winning prizes.
There is no entry fee and students can register for the tourneys the same night.
