Brian Hunter, a member of the Twin River Advisory Committee, won a prize of $5k when he was playing a charity blackjack game at Lincoln’s Twin River Casino. The prize was donated to the Family Resources Community Action of Woonsocket.
Hunter was one of the 36 people taking part in the charity blackjack tournament, which was held as part of the inauguration of table games at the Twin River Casino. He decided to donate his winnings to Family Resources Community Action because he was aware of their activities in Rhode Island. He had taken part in a Family Resources Community Action event at its Employment and Training Center in 2012. He said that he donated his winnings to the organization because they help people get houses, clothing, food, jobs, and much more.
Family Resources Community Action Executive Direction Ben Lessing said that they greatly appreciate the donation because they need funds for their homeless services, adding that the money will be spent on vulnerable families, especially children.
