Twin River Launches Blackjack

Rhode Island lawmakers are currently in the process of rewriting a gambling bill that can have a major impact on the state’s casino gaming industry. But Twin River, which is on the verge of launching a number of table games, including blackjack, is not worried about it.
The Senate Judiciary Committee recently passed laws that can alter the Gaming Control Act in a big way. These changes have fixed licensing fees at $100 million and created a set of strict rules to prevent crimes related to casino gaming.
The new laws were passed just a few days before Twin River plans to launch a selection of table games, including blackjack. As per the casino’s plans, a charity blackjack tournament will form part of the inaugural ceremony, and a number of dignitaries are expected to take part in it and win money for a charity of their choice.
Speaking about the changes in the state’s casino gaming laws, John Taylor, chairman for Twin River said that he does not think it will have any effect on the launch ceremony, adding that existing laws cover all issues that the bill has raised.
Twin River launched its new table games on June 19, Wednesday.
